Gourmet 'The Dignan'

Inspired by the final scene from the 2009 film 'The Departed' the Dignan is exactly the type of design idea you would expect from Gourmet and it's already firmly dividing opinion. Which in my opinion is exactly why I love this shoe already. It's probably not going to win prizes for looks but as a concept I think its brilliant. It definitely something that will turn heads and get the grey matter working. This is the kind of forward thinking footwear that the industry should be inviting after a 2011 of retros and reworks I think this is a promising look at some really brand new ideas for 2012. Vans Vault 'Snake' Slip On

The Vans Slip on along with the Era is simply a classic in my eyes, so simple yet such a brilliant canvas for anything you wish to put on them. This faux snake skin leather in a simple black and white colorway highlights the easy lines of the silhouette and looks really quite sinister, perfect for halloween. But on a serious note these could be the perfect accompaniment to any winter outfit. I really want to get a pair of these, they will be available soon at Vans Vault retailers worldwide...

Dries Van Noten Oxford Sneaker

Back in July I featured the SS12 Footwear collection from Dries Van Noten. Tres Bien Shop have started to get the first arrivals from the collection with this aubergine hybrid being one of the many highlights. Although it is neither shoe or sneaker it retains the best elements of both and would not look out of place with sharp sartorial or weekend casual. The price tag is not cheap but given its competition and the quality of the product I don't think it is unreasonable. 2012 won't be the same without these...

Visvim has become something of a Stella Artois of brands through being both reassuringly expensive but also surprising refreshing. With a Derby, Toecap Boot and Fringe Loafer all decked out in polished leather with a contrasting white sole. Having seen both Burberry and Comme des Garcon bringing this look onto the catwalk these are an affordable and quality alternative, available right now...

 

Nike Dunk AC Premium TZ AW11

If your starting to think a running theme of tan leather is from my recent posts, this is not a conscious decision to promote this material but more of a trend that seems to be from a whole host of brands for the upcoming months. I had no choice but to post these because I have an always will be a massive fan of the Dunk AC since its release, the don't mess with a classic mentality has no place in my agenda, I have a rather simple like it or don't like it policy. This AW11 model seems more refined than previous attempts, the outsole is pure white with no accented outline and it seems they have taken away the texturing on the toe also. With an all leather tan upper and black laces this is the cleanest looking Dunk I have seen, they are also available in black but in my opinion the tan colorway is far superior...

Dries Van Noten SS12 Footwear Collection

Dries Van Noten gives a preview of their footwear collection for Spring Summer 2012 and from the looks of the offerings it is well worth a look. With layered wooden soles and shiny leather they have simply crafted a beautiful set of shoes which will add some real class to any outfit, I really like the caramel coloured oxfords they are brilliant...

Vans V3091 LX Limonta Pack

Vans are really coming into their own of over the last 2 years, their collaborations have been outstanding and this injection of creativity seems to have also helped their own roster releases to blossom too. This V3091 pack consisting of 4 colorways are first-rate. Constructed from leather and materials imported from Italian textile manufacturer Limonta they are not only brilliant in design but also finish, I have to say my particular favourites are the multi tonal green/orange/purple pair which remind me of Autumn leaves.

Comme des Garcons x Pointer SS11 Collection

Comme des Garcons have once again teamed up with casual footwear experts Pointer for a two theme pack. The First is a white workwear pack of both a loafer and laced option in hard wearing white leather, very clean and fresh for the summer. Next is the more vibrant camoflage pack with the same two footwear pieces this time in a suede/nubuck camo combination. I love both sets, they are great and would be a perfect accent piece with a simple suit or casual jeans/t-shirt alike...

Huf Footwear - Choice Navy/Gum

Huf's 2010 Footwear releases have gone down well with the majority, we can only expect more in the coming seasons, this pair is quality, I really like the Navy colorway with the Gum toe and the stars and stripes soles, available now with the rest of the collection at Flatspot...
