Bit late with these posts apologies. Milan to Paris and the AW12 shows roll on, I have only picked a couple of shows as I know the blog has been a bit catwalk heavy but their was a huge amount of interesting collections on offer. Acne are always on the top of my list when it comes to Paris, they always deliver a clean cut collection. This season is no different, the colour combinations were exceptional and with uncomplicated tailoring without the heavy detailing of other shows really let the brands cuts and fabrics do the talking. I was very impressed with the careful layering and monogram patterning which manages to bring a casual aspect into a very suave collection...
Although the threat of snow seems to be the hot topic of conversation at the moment I am well and truly keeping it optimistic and looking forward to a warm spring and a scorching summer. With that in mind the new season from Acne has offered up this short sleeve denim shirt as part of their SS12 collection. I really like the dark denim as I think it will offer both night and day style and with a granddad colour and buttonless pockets the details are simple and effective. Available now via Oki-Ni. Having visited the new Acne store in Paris just before the New Year this is definitely not the last piece that will be gracing the blog this year, so watch this space...
The thing I took away from this show was how brilliantly simple they have managed to make this collection look and feel, I recently watched a short film with Joan Titou of APC who stated the hardest task is to make something so complicated look so simple. Acne have executed this with razor precision, the patterns singularly are simply beautiful not to mention the mix of clean sartorial cuts and quality knitwear is really brilliant. Their is something effortless about Swedish fashion and Acne have captured this essence in spectacular fashion...
